Your comfort zone is not a good benchmark…

Your comfort zone is not a good benchmark.

📍When you're not used to being seen, finally doing things to get visible can feel like sleezy self promotion.

📍When you're not used to being assertive, being unapologetic about what you want in life can feel like aggression.

📍When you're not used to feeling confident, showing up for yourself can feel like arrogance.

📍When you're not used to being a priority, putting yourself first for once can feel selfish.

You see how comfort zone be benchmarks can be problematic?

You're designed to grow, expand, desire more, be more!

Don't let your comfort zone deceive you into staying small because you've been duped into believing that's humility and prudence.

As far as social media goes…

As far as success on social media goes…

People generally only post the highlight reel. But that's not always a bad thing.

People have such a judgement on it (you already know what I think about judgements) but I say - Flip it. Reframe it.

The highlight reel is actually what draws people in! When you see a movie trailer, they arent showing you behind the scenes of their long 18 hour long filming days, light and camera set ups, boring table reads, and production meetings. What a snooze fest!

They show you the stuff that makes you want to see the movie!

People often judge social media for being that way but like, as unpopular of an opinion as this may be…that’s marketing!

So show those highlights my friend! We all know life isn’t always roses and rainbows. But when it is, you are allowed to authentically celebrate that! Do the fun dances on TikTok. Go shopping and post your hauls. Show us those client testimonials. I’m here for all the fun stuff and to celebrate all your wins!

Live your best life and share it! Be inspirational with what you do. Be authentic with how you do it. #vibehigh and be unapologetic about it.

You never know who you could be motivating with your amazing self!

Ps - should you ever desire to share the bad days. That’s allowed too.

Cheers to #Monday

When Did You Learn To Settle?

Who first told you couldn't have it all?

When did you learn to settle?

What desires have you tabled because someone, somewhere told you they were "unrealistic" - whatever that means smh?

How did you come to believe that only some people get to be "lucky" and you don't?

All questions worth sitting with today...unlock the subconscious stuff thats been holding you back. A lot of the times you will realize they were narratives not of your own doing, but storylines you decided to accept along the way because of others around you.

Release. Forgive. Choose something else.

Let's start with this: you are a powerful force in this world, destined to do good, and designed with image bearing co-creative abilities.

Its time you come back to that truth.

This March as we celebrate #womenshistorymonth let's not forget what part you are playing in history right now!

The ripple effect of your impact can reach farther than you ever even dreamed, but not if you're living a life full of limits someone placed you at some point in time.

This month I am working on putting together something thats going to help you be inspired to expand!

Hint 1: it involves some of my favorite people (my most brilliant of clients)

Hint 2: its free.

Get ready!!!!!

Everyone on my email list will get first dibs. Be sure you're on that and looking out for the email mid-month.

Want some advice?

When it comes to success, my advice boils down to this...

First, let me tell you what its not.

❌ Its not starting your day at some ungodly hour. It works for some, but not all. Find your rhythm.

❌ Its not making sure you have all your ducks in a row before you launch. Whatever that means lol. Done is better than perfect. Personally, im not that granular. I like systems, i also like the freedom i give myself to deviate when necessary.

❌ Its not having a set of curated brand colors, website or logo. Fun fact, I've never had a logo. 🤷🏾‍♀️ And my "brand colors" have evolved as i have. Not opposed to any of this btw. It just hasn't been something i put a lot of focus on.

❌ Its not waiting until "the right time." Just let go of that, it doesn't exist. The past is gone. The future is not promised. All you really have is the power of now.

My biggest piece of advice is... Show up.

Show up for the dream
Show up for the calling
Show up for your people
Show up for yourself

Homework:

Answer these questions:

Showing up looks like asking the right questions. What has God you called to do at this moment?

Showing up looks like taking the right action. Not getting #fomo and hopping on every trend that pops up on your feed. What feels the most aligned to your mission?

Showing up looks like staying in your lane and owning it. You are uniquely called to be you. You have something special that no one else has. What is that?

All the stuff you want wants you back!!!!

But you're gonna have to participate in the process, my friend! Showing up is the prerequisite. So, I just wanted to remind you of that today.

The Big Lie Everyone Buys Into

Everyone buys into the lie.

What lie you ask?

The lie that it has to be hard.

Success is hard.
Money is hard.
Building a business is hard.
Relationships are hard.
Life is hard.

And because we adopt that narrative, we self-sabbotage every step of the way to the goal. We sweat the small stuff. We procrastinate. We get caught up in things that are really none of our business and generally out of our control. We stress. We worry. We rinse. We repeat.

We create a cycle that edifies the internal dialogue, so we experience it over and over again because your ego refuses to be wrong. You won't betray your own core beliefs... If you decide its going to be hard, it absolutely will be!

But what if there was another way?

*Spoiler alert*

There is!

I'd like to offer up an alternative...

Its only hard if you think it is. Shocker. I know.

I have found that most things in life arent actually that hard. I am. 😂 I'm fighting myself 99% of the time. I'm in my own head. I'm talking myself out of things I'm afraid to face. I'm worrying about the wrong things at the wrong time. Its me. I am hard. So... Life reflects that right back.

Everything and everyone is you pushed out.

Yes, there will be challenges. But your "response ability" is full of choices. Thoughts become things so stop choosing thoughts that make it harder than it needs to be.

Example: I used to think launching courses needed to come with all this added stress and sleepless nights. Thats what "they" all say! Until one day in 2017 I decided I didn't want to do that. Ease and flow was also a choice. And it was way better! Quick shift. Different experience entirely.

Flip the script on yourself. Make it fun. Because yes...it all gets to be fun - if you decide thats what you want.

And when the going gets tough... Theres God's grace to fill in all the gaps I create (more on that tomorrow).
