Short Term Goals + Long Term VISION

Sadly... A lot of people have this false sense of what success looks like. They think that ROI on time $ money should be immediate. Like... If it doesn't happen in 30 days, something is wrong and they are frustrated. They look at social media posts of all the successful people they admire and think that a 7/8 figure income happened with 62 hours worth of effort. 💥News Flash💥 Nope. Just because you became aware of them yesterday doesn't mean they started yesterday. I promise, 99% of them have been working towards where they are now for at least a decade. All of their life's experiences have led up to this point. Even the not so good stuff. Marie Forleo's first video was 8 years ago (but she was a coach before that). Elon Musk started his first business in 1995. Gary Vee made thousands of dollars at a lemonade stand back in the 80s. Oprah got her start in TV 40 years ago. See a pattern here? Get rich quick schemes don't exist in the minds of legends. If you're constantly focusing on your next dollar, and not focusing on longterm legacy in your industry then we need to course correct NOW! Short term goals are great. They should be benchmarks, not end games. Map out quarterly, short term goals, but make sure that you have a long term vision to sustain it.

Exposed!!!

Dr. Tracy Timberlake EXPOSED

Candid shots. Gotta love 'em! Sometimes they end up being the ones you use for social. Sometimes... Not lol. Yesterday talked about story telling. A good candid/behind the scenes shot can go a long way... But today we are talking about something else.

With all this technology, don't be surprised when I tell you that everything you say and do is being stored somewhere.

Social media, the internet, your "private" Facebook account, your cell phone, Alexa... Yup! Big Brother may or may not be watching... How does that make you feel?
Not telling you this to freak you out.

If anything, I hope it inspires you to live a life of authenticity and integrity.

Show up as yourself and you won't have to feel like you're "going to be made" at any moment.

And when it comes to #personalbranding, ie branding YOU, authenticity matters a great deal! And and I always say, it takes a great deal of energy to be something thank you're not. So... Might as well be yourself. Unapologetically.

If you start from there... Exposure actually becomes a good thing! (unless you're a terrible person... In which case, we need to have a different conversation. 😂)

Social Story Telling

Social Story Telling Dr. Tracy Timberlake

People think in pictures. So, naturally social media would take off. Scientifically it makes sense. People also love good stories. So when you add that element to your feed, and focus on resonating with your audience you grow much faster.

In 2019 you can't build a personal brand without being a real person. So all your cute #flatlays and #motivationalquotes won't go very far without infusing some of YOU in it!

"omg! I shared my story on Facebook, and got so many DMs!" - a client told me yesterday.

Well yes! Duh! People are people and they wanna know that you're one too.

No matter what industry you're in, if you're not story telling on social, you're missing an incredible opportunity to connect with and impact people. The tides have turned and now the images of you working out are equally as important as the workout itself (I try share mine on IG stories all the time). Not only is it enough for you to speak to on stages, you also need pictures of it too! It's a thing...hence this image of me speaking for a chamber of commerce breakfast 🥣.

So this today, I challenge you to tell a story. What are you doing? Who are you meeting? What are you eating? Something! Value doesn't always come. In the form of 3 tips and how to's. Tell a story. Let people get to know you a little bit. Show them who they're working with! Capture people's attention with thumb stopping 🛑 content. Then... Do it again, and again, and again.

People wanna know you cuz you're so awesome!

PS - if you take my challenge, comment below and tag me in the post so I can learn about you too!

The Reason You are Here

When I was in college, someone told me that if I wanted to live an exciting life, I should learn to listen to the #voiceofGod and do EXACTLY what it says. And the journey began.

No matter where you are in your life's #journey... Whether you are carping every diem and living your best life now or navigating through storm and struggle to get there, we can settle on the fact that your probably trying to get better (or at least you should be cuz there is more!) First, let's just be clear that there is nothing wrong with you...innately. You are enough. You are loved. You are supported, and all that... But being a teleological creature is an inherent part of the human experience. So don't fight it. Meaning... You will always be working towards purpose, end, goal, or function of which you were designed - ie you are here for a reason. Deny it all you want, there will always be something inside of you that pulls you in the direction of your purpose. Unfortunately, most people suppress it and stay stuck... And so they wake up every morning reliving the same mediocrity of #yesterday.

As a coach, my work is to present a mirror of destiny in front of you and give you the tools that empower you to pursue a life of more meaning & max'd out possibility that I know is in all of us. Yea.. I work with #entrepreneurs mostly, but let's be real, it's always about #personaldevelopment. You can't really build a successful, sustainable #business w/o that component.

I walk my clients through every kind of life issue from how to make a $1,000,000 a year to how to deal with cancer and all kinds of life that can happen in between. The focus is always the business, the brand and the boss behind it. You need to address all three. Always.

Knowing you're meant for more changes the game. It changes everything that contributes to your next level self (income, environment, career, love, #family, relationship with #God). "Life's too short" is repeated often enough to be a cliche, but this time it's true. You don't have enough time to be both unhappy and mediocre. It's not just pointless, it's painful." @sethgodin

Dreams are Born… Not Borrowed

Have you been living someone else's dream? Someone else's life? If so, you're not alone. I've been there.

And as we get further into 2019, I am going to encourage you to stop! Seriously! 🛑

Pretending that you're content living a subpar life is not a virtue.

Being a pale shadow of who you are meant to be serves no one.

Being broke is not cool. Being annoyed by Monday morning is a terrible way to live.

It's time to make moves. And the easiest way to start is with a healthy imagination.

One of my daily affirmations is that my imagination represents my reality. Now... This may sound cool, but let's be clear. I have a vivid imagination. Which means that I have to discipline myself to imagine things that I desire-Not things i fear, things I doubt, etc.

So here are my tips on how to use your imagination to recreate your life experience:

1. Don't spend time imaging what you don't want. We are very very creative. We can imagine any kind of crazy in our mind. I mean the worst of the worst! Don't do that. Don't imagine anything you wouldn't want to materialize.

2. Don't focus on past experiences to create future realities. Science tells us that our feelings come from past experiences. So if past experiences brought you pain and suffering. Let that ish go! The past... Full of its failures, doubts, and fears only exists in your mind. Stop thinking about it.

3. Your imagination is YOUR Imagination. You don't have to allow people to speak into it, especially those who have no business doing so. Being a dreamer is a good thing. Dreamers change the world!

Albert Einstein said "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Foreknowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world..." 4. Imagine farther than you can see. Don't edit. Don't limit. Allow your mind to create.

5. You gotta act. As you imagine, and dream, and pray... You have to participate. Don't pray for things you aren't willing to work for.

6. Lastly, trust. Recklessly.
Therefore, the promise comes by faith...the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
