Wanted to drop in and give a little more than 2200 characters about this. So here we are.
But I've had this written on a post-it note next to my desk for years. It reminds me that i really can't do it all. And I'm not supposed to.
As an entrepreneur, as a CEO, we often carry the weight of the world on our shoulders.
I think we have glorified this whole hustle culture, and if you know me, you know that im all for showing up.
I set high goals for myself, and then I do my best to sit back and just listen. Because whatever the big scary goal is.. 1 i didn't give it to myself and therefore 2, i cant accomplish it myself.
My job is the showing up piece. It's doing what i feel called to do when i feel called to do it. It's taking the divinely inspired action every day - sometimes that divinely inspired action is rest, btw... But that's a topic for another day.
But once I've done that, once I've taken inventory of what I'm called to do and then I do it... God kind of gets to take care of the rest.
The issue is, we have a hard time doing that.
If you're a high achiever you know what I mean.
You're used to doing it all.
You're used to being the strong one.
You're used to not needing help.
You built an entire identity around it and then created so many walls around yourself.. Such a fortress... That anytime you're put in a position where you actually need to lean in this concept of God filling in the gap, it feels like unwanted subjugation. Basically, we left God out in favor of our own power and might and get bent out of shape when God actually wants to show up for us.
How do I know? Cuz I've had many a come Jesus moments about control issues i never thought I owned.
Seriously, I don't feel like people who know me we would say I'm a control freak. I have high standards. I am clear on what i want. But i don't think i generally try to control the outcome.
But I have learned that we all are in some capacity: Control freaks. We all feel like i need to do it, I have to do it, I should be doing it, I I I!
The issue there is its doesn't leave much room for God to do what God does.
Lots of room for you tho. It's an ego boost to know you did it all. And when it doesn't go as planned it also gives you a reason to blame and judge yourself.
The truth is, statistically, it shouldn't make sense for me to be where I am - single parent home of an immigrant mom, black, woman... On paper, we aren't really batting 500 here.
But God's grace filling in the gaps supersedes all of that. It's the stuff that shows up when it seems like everything I am doing is wrong and yet it works out anyway.
God's grace is the element that takes it to the next level even when the work I put in (or didn't put in for that matter) is insufficient.
God's grace is filling in the gaps is directional when you need it to be. Its visionary, ita inspiration, its motivation, its creativity, it's putting the right people in your path when you need it, it's you being in the right place at the right time unexpectedly, it is the gut feelings of intuition and instinct, its the extra boost of energy you need yo get you through it, its the rest when you need that, its God knowing what you need before you do because he knows where he is calling you to go, and he is always seeing a 40,000-foot view of it.
Your ability to trust that and lean into that makes showing up so much better!
Listen to the rest of the podcast for a quick journaling assignment that will help!
Sending you all so much love today.
Wanted to drop in and give a little more than 2200 characters about this. So here we are.
It is not an accident that I have felt called to this work YEARS in advance. I have been preaching the same 'GO DIGITAL' message since I started my business.
- Because I never want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to serve their people.
- Because that's where people are!!!
DO NOT BE DECEIVED.
- One of them just signed a $25,000 Client
- One of them started a new business with her husband (I mean, they gotta be together anyway, right?)
- One of them has a booming online fitness business that is growing every single day!
Ratings have been higher than ever.
Audiences have actually been growing.

Ok folks - its time for another lesson in personal branding, and its coming from Billionaire #BossBabe Kylie Jenner. I peruse the internet daily...yes its my job, but even more than that, I like it. Its a millennial thing, I get it. So, as I was scrolling through TikTok - part of my nightly routine - I saw someone post a little snippet of Kylie Jenner going in to wake up her daughter Stormi. When she entered the room, she happened to casually sing a little ditty "rise and shine." Totally made up. Totally spontaneous.
Well, as per usj...the internet was all over it. Memes popped up all over the place! People were doing remixes, they were sharing it on TikTok (how I found it), and Arianna Grande even shot Kylie a message asking if she could sample it.
Kylie, being the business woman she is, said YES to ALL the things! Yes to the sampling, yes to the viral memes, and yes to owning the fact that a casual 3 word phrase is now a part of her personal brand. Oh! But I am not done. She quickly got her design team on it and now has Rise and Shine Hoodies on kyliejennershop.com
Can we say #bossmoves? So, let's get to some tangibles we can learn from this.
Lesson 1: CEO's Recognize Opportunity
And this what a CEO does. They see opportunity for the business and the brand to expand, and they ride the wave. They cash in. They monetize that which is available to monetize RIGHT NOW!
Conversely, I have seen lots of celebrities in the same viral position who have NOT been quick to understand how virality and cashflow work.
In today's digital world, your ability to see the path to profit matters! Further, its not just seeing it, its monetizing it. So...for you reading this, take notes my friends! This is how its done.
Lesson 2: CEOS's Take Action FAST!
This is a simple conversation of arbratge. Who knows what the true lifespan of the memes would be. Not the point, #TeamKylie is taking full advantage and controlling the narrative. And they did it FAST! SHE is now in control, not the internet.
Lesson 3: CEO's Have the Right People in Play
It could be time for you to stop sitting on the sidelines and start warming up to get in the game! Because time is ticking, and you're likely leaving lots of money on the table.
If we need to have a conversation to get you going in the right direction - you know how to find me!

When someone comes to me with a cash flow problem in their business its likely going to be one of these things. These are in no particular order:
- Your positioning is off.
- You’ve spent a lot of time perfecting the product, but not the sales and marketing strategy.
- You are showing up as a catchall, a jack-of-all-trades, but master of none.
- You are doing the most!
- You don’t take your business seriously.
- You’re content is not good.
- You aren’t giving enough value up front.
- You don’t have a true path to profit.
- Too focused on sales, not enough focus on relationship building
- You are underestimating the process
- You’re letting your doubts get the best of you
- You are in the wrong environment
- You don’t have a good relationship with money
- You are worried about the wrong thing.
- Not investing in the right things.

Live your life on brand, always and unapologetically!
Sometimes you just forget. Seriously. You forget to make choices that are on brand - because it seems inconvenient, because you don't want to offend anyone, because... you slip back in to old habits, or some combination of all of the above.
I recently took a trip to Las Vegas - and I experienced something that many of us do from time to time. I simply forgot myself! I forgot that I could shift. I forgot to stand in my power. I forgot to make a new choice.
In this podcast, I am sharing all of that with you and what I had to do to shake it off and shift.
Sadly... A lot of people have this false sense of what success looks like. They think that ROI on time $ money should be immediate. Like... If it doesn't happen in 30 days, something is wrong and they are frustrated.
They look at social media posts of all the successful people they admire and think that a 7/8 figure income happened with 62 hours worth of effort. News Flash
Just because you became aware of them yesterday doesn't mean they started yesterday. I promise, 99% of them have been working towards where they are now for at least a decade. All of their life's experiences have led up to this point. Even the not so good stuff.
Marie Forleo's first video was 8 years ago (but she was a coach before that). Elon Musk started his first business in 1995.
Gary Vee made thousands of dollars at a lemonade stand back in the 80s.
Oprah got her start in TV 40 years ago.
See a pattern here?
Get rich quick schemes don't exist in the minds of legends.
If you're constantly focusing on your next dollar, and not focusing on longterm legacy in your industry then we need to course correct NOW!
Short term goals are great. They should be benchmarks, not end games. Map out quarterly, short term goals, but make sure that you have a long term vision to sustain it.
