Did You Experience Creator’s Block?

I had "creator's block" - ever experienced this?

If you follow my IG stories (and you should... I'm way more active there than my feed at times), I talked about having photo block last week.

For weeks, I kept trying to take pictures and I liked none of them!

I kept trying to write captions, and none of them made sense.

Creator's Block!

You know what I did?

1. Gave myself permission to not post and didn't feel a lick of guilt about it. Social media is a tool I use - but its not the only tool. And it doesn't ruley life. So, while I was not posting, I was focusing on servicing elsewhere.

2. I kept taking pictures and I kept writing. The amount of pictures I have taken in the last 2 weeks that will never see the light of day is just ridiculous πŸ˜‚ I posted some of the bts in my stories. But when you find yourself uninspired or unmotivated the last thing you should so is give up. An object in motion stays in motion. The only way you fail is if you quit. So, even though nothing was making sense, I still kept myself in the habit of creation because eventually, something was gonna work. Which leads me to 3.

3. I trusted that it would pass. I didn't wallow in 'woe is me' 'whats wrong with me' 'why is this not working' energy. That's never am empowering place to begin the conversation. Instead, i just kept living my life, knowing that at some point my Creator's Block would go away.

And it did! Im feeling more inspired and more creative (at least this week πŸ˜‚).

If you're fortunate enough to use social media to show up, lend your voice, serve people, inspire, motivate, etc... Then do that because THAT is exactly whats available to you. Facebook, Instagram, tiktok, YouTube, etc... These are not weapons formed against you!

We use them because they allow us to build platforms and impact people. Sometimes we need a minute because we are exhausted or unmotivated or we just dont feel like it. I get that. When that happens, learn to rest. But don't quit. Someone is probably on their knees praying for you to show up, say what youre supposed to say, do what youre supposed to do.

Happy Creating! πŸ€—

Don’t Be Surprised If…

Something I tell my clients all the time...

Dont be surprised by your success. Be humble. Be grateful. But please please please dont be surprised. Here's what I mean...

Sometimes we say things like "omg i cant believe this happened to me!" or "i dont know how I got here" - really?! 'Cause I could have sworn 3 months ago this is exactly what you wanted and we had a whole conversation on what you were going to do so that it actually comes to pass... πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

No judgement lol - I have been there too. Definitely said those things. Thankfully I have a coach who caught it quickly and made me reframe.

Because saying you dont know how something so great manifested is disempowering.

It's actually one of the worst things you can do when you achieve a level of success and then tell yourself you don't know how it happened!

Success is not happenstance. Success is not random. Success is planned for, prayed for, etc.

Saying you don't know how it happened discounts everything you did leading up to it.

     You discount your prayers.
     You discount your intentions.
     You discount your work.

You wanted this. You asked for this. You showed up this! You put in time and effort for this! So how you gon' act like it just happened all will nilly?

So... Heres a quick lesson on the universal law of cause and effect.

YOU always operate at the level of cause, what you experience is the effect. In other words, you reap what you sow. In other other words, every action has an equal opposite reaction.

Every thought, every intention, every action that comes from you will ripple into something. You get to choose what that something is based on the said thoughts, actions, and intentions.

When you set your sights on achieving something great, and then you show up for it in the way you should... Lets not pretend we didn't play an active role in that process!

And here's why this is important - when you can get behind the belief that you are in fact co-creating your life, and you see it in real time, and you acknowledge it in real time then you learn to recognize just how powerful of a being you truly are. God did not make you by accident. He didnt give you the desire just 'cause. Trust it. ❀️

The Power of Play

My secret superpower (and its probably one of yours too, so listen up!)

Play. Play is very powerful for me. And probably is for you too! Just gotta lean in.

According to Scientific American, fun and laughter release endorphins, happy hormones which counteract cortisol.

Basically, fun counteracts stress, one of the biggest inhibitors of cognitive performance.

For adults it helps you relax, be more creative, solve problems easier and more effectively, etc.

And for me personally, I find myself more in the flow when I am just having fun!

Things are easier.I trust God more.I trust myself more.I manifest faster.I help more people.I make more money.Opportunities pop up “out of nowhere”I can rest in all the success. And it all just feels good.

Yes! Its great to have a concrete strategy and to learn how to follow through and execute. Please, for the love of all things #entrepreneurial – execute!

Its commendable to be disciplined with your time and hustle when necessary. Because showing up is requires.

But honestly, if being in your business isnt fun, why are you even doing it?

Play is magnetic.Play feels like alignment.Play is indicative of flow.

Don’t wind yourself up so tight from all of the ins and outs of your to-to list.

Step away from the laptop when technology isn’t going your way. Take a nap if you can’t slow your mind down enough to stop spiraling in doubt and negative self talk. Go for a walk, get some sun, play with puppies… Do whatever you need to do to find a point of access!

Live life to the full… Including the fullness of fun πŸ€ΈπŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ€ΈπŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ€ΈπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Have some of that today, will ya?

#Affirmation: The more fun I have, the more successful I am.

The Bad Pancake Theory…

Have you heard of the bad pancake theory in dating?

Lets apply this to your business...

Basically, when you make pancakes, the first one comes out a little wonky. But as you keep going, they get progressively better!

Usually, this is applied to dating after long term relationships. The first person you date is the bad pancake. But, it gets better after that, "they say."

Well, let's apply this theory to business. The first idea you have, the first course you create, the first video you make, the first live stream you do...all bad pancakes. When I say bad, I simply mean, it's not going to be perfect. You're still learning. And there is nothing wrong with that!

I mean sure, it's "edible" - you will be able to sell it, post it, launch it, etc...but will it be the apex of your life's work?

No! It shouldn't be.

You know how many youtube videos I made before I felt like my videos were actually...kind of good?

You know how many courses I launched before I finally felt like I created my flagship one?

You know how many talks I gave at conferences before I felt like I could own it on stage?

You know how many times I winged out my eye liner before it looked good on my face? πŸ˜‚

A lot!

But you know what I never did? I never stewed in the idea that any of it had to be perfect before it made its debut. Who has time for that? I have a life to live, people to help, purpose to step into, obedience to walk in.

I kept going.

Perfectionism will kill momentum. And I am not available for that. Instead, I focused my energy on learning what I needed to learn so that it just got done! I can assess after, revamp later, and redo if necessary.

I am where I am today because I wasn't willing to lose to the idea that perfect the ONLY way to do it.

So if you're spinning your wheels in neutral because you think the first iteration of anything needs to be absolutely perfect, just remember...even a batch of pancakes never start out ready for their cookbook cover closeup the first time.

Besides, who told you it had to be perfect anyway?

That mindset is going to make this experience more painful than it ever needed to be, my friend.

Choose again.
