The cookies are on the top shelf…

A mentor of mine from back in the day used to say this all the time!!! It stuck with me. It was a nod to living a life of excellence.

💯You're allowed to have high standards.

💯You're allowed to live at high levels of excellence. As a matter of fact, you should.

💯Love yourself enough to know you can have it and you deserve it. ALL!

And that word "deserve" can be very triggering. Because most of us (myself included) weren't taught that we deserve good things. Good things were a gift from God, and we should just be happy we get what we get. Don't say nothin. Don't ask for nothin. Don't rock the boat. Be content. Period. 🤢

It took me years to understand what God's grace, God's love and God's generosity really meant in my life. That's a whole story in and of itself - lemme know if you wanna hear.

Because once I got it... I got it! Shift happened!

Getting to choose how you want to live life is a gift - we all get it. Few exercise it. Its a conscious choice.

So...This is my encouragement to you to choose. Set a higher bar for yourself. Because a higher bar is available. Don't settle for mediocrity when limitless possibilities are available!

You can be happy.
You can have more.
You can live the life you want.

But you gotta become the person who knows that those things are meant for them...thats where the cookies are 🙂

Be your bright sunny, self! ☀️


Dont ever feel guilty or dumb for giving people the best version of yourself.

You are not responsible for how they receive it. You can only choose to be authentically you. Sometimes... You are just a lot. Some may take advantage. Some may run away. Some may choose another over you. And that is on them.

But when you can stand in integrity and say you were authentically you... Thats enough.

You're enough.

I promise.

I pray you don't grow weary of showing up.
I pray you don't grow weary of doing well.
And I pray your heart doesnt grow calloused in the work of showing love.

Keep loving.
Keep encouraging.
Keep being kind.
Keep being generous.
Keep doing you.

Know that God put you where you needed to be in that season, in that moment for a reason. They may have needed it. And God chose you to provide it.

God works in you and through you in the lives of other people. So dont discredit Gods work by thinking that it was dumb or silly of you to be your amazing self.

Dont let their actions dictate how you love and how you show up for others.

The reward isn't always immediate, but its coming.

PSS - I also highly recommended you love yourself enough to create boundaries when necessary. We are not door mats! Ok thats all 😊
