The Bad Pancake Theory…

Have you heard of the bad pancake theory in dating?

Lets apply this to your business...

Basically, when you make pancakes, the first one comes out a little wonky. But as you keep going, they get progressively better!

Usually, this is applied to dating after long term relationships. The first person you date is the bad pancake. But, it gets better after that, "they say."

Well, let's apply this theory to business. The first idea you have, the first course you create, the first video you make, the first live stream you do...all bad pancakes. When I say bad, I simply mean, it's not going to be perfect. You're still learning. And there is nothing wrong with that!

I mean sure, it's "edible" - you will be able to sell it, post it, launch it, etc...but will it be the apex of your life's work?

No! It shouldn't be.

You know how many youtube videos I made before I felt like my videos were actually...kind of good?

You know how many courses I launched before I finally felt like I created my flagship one?

You know how many talks I gave at conferences before I felt like I could own it on stage?

You know how many times I winged out my eye liner before it looked good on my face? 😂

A lot!

But you know what I never did? I never stewed in the idea that any of it had to be perfect before it made its debut. Who has time for that? I have a life to live, people to help, purpose to step into, obedience to walk in.

I kept going.

Perfectionism will kill momentum. And I am not available for that. Instead, I focused my energy on learning what I needed to learn so that it just got done! I can assess after, revamp later, and redo if necessary.

I am where I am today because I wasn't willing to lose to the idea that perfect the ONLY way to do it.

So if you're spinning your wheels in neutral because you think the first iteration of anything needs to be absolutely perfect, just remember...even a batch of pancakes never start out ready for their cookbook cover closeup the first time.

Besides, who told you it had to be perfect anyway?

That mindset is going to make this experience more painful than it ever needed to be, my friend.

Choose again.

The Big Lie Everyone Buys Into

Everyone buys into the lie.

What lie you ask?

The lie that it has to be hard.

Success is hard.
Money is hard.
Building a business is hard.
Relationships are hard.
Life is hard.

And because we adopt that narrative, we self-sabbotage every step of the way to the goal. We sweat the small stuff. We procrastinate. We get caught up in things that are really none of our business and generally out of our control. We stress. We worry. We rinse. We repeat.

We create a cycle that edifies the internal dialogue, so we experience it over and over again because your ego refuses to be wrong. You won't betray your own core beliefs... If you decide its going to be hard, it absolutely will be!

But what if there was another way?

*Spoiler alert*

There is!

I'd like to offer up an alternative...

Its only hard if you think it is. Shocker. I know.

I have found that most things in life arent actually that hard. I am. 😂 I'm fighting myself 99% of the time. I'm in my own head. I'm talking myself out of things I'm afraid to face. I'm worrying about the wrong things at the wrong time. Its me. I am hard. So... Life reflects that right back.

Everything and everyone is you pushed out.

Yes, there will be challenges. But your "response ability" is full of choices. Thoughts become things so stop choosing thoughts that make it harder than it needs to be.

Example: I used to think launching courses needed to come with all this added stress and sleepless nights. Thats what "they" all say! Until one day in 2017 I decided I didn't want to do that. Ease and flow was also a choice. And it was way better! Quick shift. Different experience entirely.

Flip the script on yourself. Make it fun. Because yes...it all gets to be fun - if you decide thats what you want.

And when the going gets tough... Theres God's grace to fill in all the gaps I create (more on that tomorrow).

Reach Your Financial Freedom in 2021…

Stop sideyeing this!

I heard a wealthy man say that his goal in life is to acquire as much debt as possible.

How does that even make sense?

He is an investor and goes to banks and asks how much they will loan him.

Obvi, he has a system that creates ROI on the money he borrows, but you need to get this, and get this FAST - the mindset piece comes FIRST!

I am not advocating you go rack up debt. We know what the bible says. I am saying that we don’t have to judge the word like it’s the big bad. Even though many of us were told that.

We have listened to irresponsible financial teachers tell us that our priority should be to get out of debt as quickly as possible.

That if you want to be free from financial burden, you should get a 2nd job at Applebee's to pay it off as quickly as possible. Good Lord, I have so much to say about how TERRIBLE this advice is, but I will save that.

The truth is, being debt free is not true freedom if you haven’t fixed the underlying $ mindset problems of fear, lack, & scarcity.

Plus, I don’t trust ppl that gets richer off teaching you how to stay in a poor mindset with fear-based tactics that perpetuate an unhealthy, almost abusive relationship with money.

You can be debt free and terrified to spend money b/c you think it's going to run out. You can still have no idea how to save more than a few hundred dollars and you can be still clueless about how to stack yo’ paper to make more.

Debt, by itself is not inherently bad. You just decided to make installments. It doesn’t have to come with a side of judgment.

There is no such thing as good or bad debt. So stop assigning guilt and shame to it.

The debt isn’t the problem, the mindset around money is. Fix that FIRST! As a matter of fact, once your beliefs around $$$ shifts, debt usually shifts too!

Sometimes, $$$ starts to somehow appear "out of nowhere" cuz you shifted.

What if you believed God actually wanted you to be debt free AND have overflow (because He does).

What if you believed $ was fully available to you and you're allowed to have it?

Let's explore that!

Masterclass starts at 6:00 pm.
